Já são conhecidos os nomeados para a edição deste ano dos Emmy. O grande destaque vai para a série Watchmen, a a mais nomeada com um total de 26 indicações. Já na “guerra” entre plataformas, destaca-se a Netflix com 160 nomeações, seguida pela HBO com 107. Disney e Apple estreiam-se nas nomeações.

As novidades são muitos e fruto das saídas do ar de alguns dos pesos-pesados das últimas edições como Guerra dos Tronos, Veep e Fleabag. Watchmen, da HBO é o principal destaque entre as séries, estando indicada para melhor realização, por três episódios, melhor série, fotografia, banda sonora e efeitos especiais e também com vários atores do elenco nomeados, como Regina King ou Jeremy Irons.

Depois de Watchmen, segue-se, com 20 nomeações, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime Video) e, com 18, estão Ozark (Netflix) e Sucession (HBO).The Morning Show e The Mandalorian deram as primeiras nomeações a Apple TV+ e da Disney+, respetivamente. Os vencedores serão conhecidos no próximo dia 20 de setembro,  numa cerimónia transmitida pela ABC e apresentada por Jimmy Kimmel.
